NEW Skin Rejuvenation Options…

Non-Surgical Skin Resurfacing Technology That Works!

What’s the best laser skin resurfacing treatment?

Hello , I really need to strip away the layers of my skin, as there damaged through heat and sunburn, and burning through stuffy humid air in general, I’m 20 but over the last 6 moths various mishaps made my white skin go yellow and red under layer of damaged skin. Just wondeering what’s the best for removing many layers of skin. I hear fraxel has many problems like people coming out worse than they went in hyperpigmentation etc. So was wondering what’s the best most effective and most safest, fraxel, pearl, c02, eribium or some other treatment though laser or not, but not some weak little facial that’s not gonin 2 make a huge differenec, Is fraxel ok or what”?
The newer one is profractional laser and it doesn’t work better then fraxel.

It truly depends on exactly what needs to be properly corrected. In your case it sounds as if the Laser 360 would benefit you from a complete laser skin resurfacing approach. However, you should consult with a professional and certified laser technitian prior to receiving any treatments. FYI – Pixel Laser is an absolutely amazing skin rejuvenation treatment. microdermabrasion or chemical peels? Is there much difference?

Posted by admin on Jul 26, 2010 under facials, new york medispa

I know the microdermabrasion reduces fine lines on your face but what about chemical peels and laser skin resurfacing ? Which is the longest lasting procedure and also do any of them tighten the skin a little in the process ? Also is there much difference in the cost ?
Chemical peels and microdermabrasion are two popular skin treatments that improve the appearance of the skin. If you choose a chemical peel, you may choose between light, medium and deep. Microdermabrasion simply removes the dead skin cells and the top layer of the skin, while making it feel very smooth. The light peel removes the top layer of skin. You may experience a slight pinkness of the skin, and your skin should return to its natural color later in the same day or the following day. A medium peel removes more skin than a light peel, and recovery takes a week or longer. Results will last longer, however, and the procedure will reduce wrinkles. A physician performs a deep chemical peel in an operating room and is quite expensive. In addition, recovery time can last from 3 to 6 months. Microdermabrasion is the process of spraying fine crystals on the skin to remove the dead skin cells. The skin will appear rosier, lighter and brighter. The results last only a short time, but the cost of the procedure is considerably less than that of chemical peels. Chemical peel will more dramatically change the appearance of your skin, is more expensive and has a longer recovery time. However, many people enjoy the results they get from microdermabrasion treatments as well.

pixel laser resurfacing and tretinoin cream?

Posted by admin on Jul 13, 2010 under Laser Skin Resurfacing, laser skin tightening, new york medispa

i have taken an pixel laser resurphasing treatment of a scar on my upper lip(below nose). before pixel treatment i have used tretinoin for several months (melalong). now even after 7 days my skin is not healing properly. whaen crusting get shed new crusting develops again and again. what should i do now?
Call the person who treated you because it sounds like your skin has been burned and whoever performed the laser resurfacing(hopefully an experienced dermatologist)will need to observe the problem and determine the next course of action.I really cant urge you enough to seek medical treatment from a licensed doctor that has successfully treated several people you know personally..You don’t want to cut corners with this, Good luck!

It’s not the Pixel Laser. You must consult with a qualified skin care professional immediately. This is not normal and needs attention to ensure no infection sets in from the reaction.

Restylane, Radiesse & Juvederm Fillers-Restore Facial Youth

Posted by admin on Apr 17, 2010 under botox

http://amacorp.com Restylane is a FDA-approved injectable gel which enhances your natural beauty by restoring your skin’s volume, creating softness and revitalizing your appearance. Youthful skin is rich in hyaluronic acid. As we age, the distribution and function of hyaluronic acid in our skin gradually changes, leading to the characteristic signs of aging. Restylane gel works by enhancing your skin’s own reserve of hyaluronic acid, directly adding volume to either soften the signs of aging by wrinkle removal or to enhance your features. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is not extracted from animals, thus limiting any risk of animal-based disease transmissions or development of allergic reactions to animal proteins. This treatment fits in well with busy lifestyles. The procedure is quick (usually taking less than 45 minutes), downtime is minimal, results can be seen instantly and last up to 6 months (individual results may vary). Radiesse® is FDA approved for the treatment of facial lines and for wrinkle removal around the nose, mouth and eyes (including smile lines, Marionette lines and Nasolabial folds). Radiesse® works with your body below the skin’s surface and is considered a “sub-dermal” filler. The substance used is calcium hydroxylapitite, a naturally occurring substance that does not cause allergic reactions and thus does not require testing. When properly used for wrinkle removal, Radiesse® not only replaces lost volume and “plumps up” the skin; it actually promotes the creation of new collagen. When artfully injected into the sub-dermal space, a matrix of Radiesse® can be “laid down” in a scaffold-like pattern, thus promoting your collagen cells to naturally grow around it. Radiesse® does more than just temporarily fill-in facial lines and wrinkles ? it rebuilds your skin’s foundation. You get immediate results and look younger, longer. Radiesse® lasts 12-18 months. Juvéderm™ is a dermal filler that is made from hyaluronic acid — a substance that naturally occurs in your skin and plays a vital role in hydrating your skin and replenishing its’ natural volume. Juvéderm™ is an effective wrinkle removal treatment that can also be used for facial sculpting. It is not derived from animal sources nor is it tested on animals. No allergy skin tests are needed prior to receiving treatment. Juvéderm™ is an injectable gel which employs its unique manufacturing process to provide the highest concentration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid of any currently available dermal filler therefore providing longer-lasting results. This advanced manufacturing process also creates a smooth consistency gel that flows consistently and easily into the skin and provides a smooth, natural look and feel. Juvéderm™ is the only filler available with this smooth consistency gel formulation—other existing hyaluronic acid fillers are made of granular consistency gels. A video Spore Medical produced for American Medical Aesthetics (www.amacorp.com) featuring their experience with dermal fillers.

Skin Tigntening 01 RxSkin Clinic

Posted by admin on Apr 2, 2010 under Laser Skin Resurfacing, laser skin tightening

Non-Surgical Face Lift with the ST Device The non-surgical face lift with the ST (skin tightening) device provides a non-invasive skin lifting and tightening.Collagen, the main support system for skin, wears down over time due to aging, cumulative sun exposure, environmental conditions and smoking, et cetera, which all lead to sagging skin. The near-infrared ST device produces safe, effective deep dermal heating which induces neo-collagenesis (new collagen production). Who are typical candidates? younger patients not ready for surgery non-surgical candidates older patients with mild to moderate laxity (skin lacking firmness) What are the benefits compared to cosmetic surgery? Inexpensive alternative No downtime Avoid the pain/risks associated with standard surgery There are no restrictions in activity following the procedure Extremely safe How it works The ST device uses radiofrequency energy to heat the tissue below the skin while it keeps the skin surface cool. This “tightens” your existing collagen and stimulates new collagen growth. The end result is tighter, firmer skin. A local anesthetic cream will be used to numb the treatment area for one hour before your procedure. The length of time required for the procedure itself will depend on the size of the treatment area. The usual range is between 30 minutes and one hour. While the procedure should not hurt, you may experience a sensation of heat in the treated areas. Patients leave the office looking and feeling great. Typically, three to six 30 minute treatment sessions are required to obtain the desired result. Post-Procedure Results: What to Expect Results vary from patient to patient. Your age, treatment area, and skin laxity all affect the outcome. While some patients have seen improvement within a few days, you should expect your results to appear over a period of three to five months. We will take pictures before and after your procedure so you can see the benefits of your treatment over time. ST Device Science Overview: Key components to non-invasive skin remodeling are epidermal protection and proper selection of laser/light and energy to evoke the desired thermal response in the papillary and upper reticular dermis. These non-ablative modalities obviate the need for epidermal injury and promote the reorganization and proliferation of important dermal structures to reverse photo-damaged and lax skin via thermal or photochemical process. The ST device emits light between 780-1000nm (near infrared) where the optical window is ideal for direct sub-dermal heating (connective tissue, proteins) with low water absorption in the epidermis. These conditions negate the need for aggressive epidermal cooling. The ST device allows large coverage and true investment of energy density for better penetration and predictable thermal effect. The device is applied on the skin where it is kept stationary for the entire exposure time. Skin remodeling is a biophysical phenomenon that occurs at cellular and molecular levels via the intervention of optical or thermal energy. The ST device exerts its biological effect on the skin through two major mechanisms: 1) heat-induced collagen shrinkage and micro-thermal injury and; 2) dermis regeneration, repair (wound healing) and remodeling. Collagen cleavage in tissue is a probability event dependant on temperature. The in-vitro thermal cleavage of the hydrogen bond cross links of tropocollagen can result in the molecular contraction of the triple helix up to one third of its original length. Cellular contraction involves the initiation of an inflammatory/wound healing sequence that is perpetuated over several weeks. Contraction of skin is achieved through fibroblastic multiplication and contraction with the deposition of a static supporting matrix of nascent scar collagen. This cellular contraction process is a biological threshold event initiated by the degranulation of the mast cell that releases histamine. This histamine release initiates the inflammatory wound healing sequence. Following cellular contraction, collagen is laid down as a static supporting matrix in the tightened soft tissue structure. The deposition and subsequent remodeling of this nascent scar matrix provides the means to alter the consistency and geometry of soft tissue for aesthetic purposes.

Skin Anti Aging Tip… Protect Yourself With Sunscreen!

Posted by admin on Apr 1, 2010 under Laser Skin Resurfacing, Uncategorized, new york medispa

This time of the year we all spend much more time outdoors. I just want to take this opportunity to remind everyone to apply sunscreen everyday! If you’re someone who wears makup, be certain you apply your sunscreen under your makeup and over your moisturizer to protect the damaging effects from the sun.

Enjoy being outdoors year round and always remember you can slow the skins natural aging process everyday by simply protecting your skin with sunscreen!

Don’t be fooled into buying moisturizer with sunscreen and makeup with sunscreen. The protection is greatly compromised when combined with other ingredients and falls short of the benefit of the anti aging protection of applying sunscreen.

Just past the age of twenty the skins ability to form collagen becomes compromised with sun exposure. Did you know that tanning booths have five times the aging UVA rays as natural sun?

I recommend an SPF of 30 or higher applied daily. You may also consider applying sunscreen to your hands, neck, and chest. Once this regimen is started it becomes second nature and the aging process is greatly reduced.

If you are someone who already has a signs of sun damaged skin (fine lines, wrinkles, sun and age spots, discoloration, dryness, loose skin etc.) you might want to obtain a free consultation regarding the laser 360 skin rejuvenation process that promotes new collagen growth!

Call Pretty Face Medispa For Your Free Consultation – 914.788.9790

http:www.PrettyFaceMedispa.com

Enjoy skin that is less wrinkled with no sunspots. Enjoy skin that is firm and even toned. Enjoy skin that has healthy texture and fullness.

Did you know that walking to the mailbox and cloudy days exposes the skin to harmful UVA rays? Did you know that UVA rays go directly through your windshield and clothing? Melanin surfaces to the skin to protect the skin from burning.  This constant up and down effect of Melanin cells to protect the skin from the sun destroys the youthful healthy skin we all want.

If I could sell just one product to prevent aging it would be sunscreen that is applied every day.

What is the difference between Pixel Laser and Profractional Laser?

My doctor offers Profractional. I know how this works, by treating only part of the skin while leaving the rest untreated to speed up the healing time. And I understand this is considered to not be an ‘ablative’ treatment. So what is Pixel? Is that the same as Fractional or Profractional? This is confusing! Thanks. PS – Has anyone had either of these? The Pixel is cheaper but is it as good? Has anyone has Profractional? Quite expensive but maybe better . . . ?

Unlike traditional ablative lasers, used only on the face, the Laser Pixel® 2940 is targeted at treatments on the face, neck, chest, arms and hands, giving it a wider scope for treating aged and sun damaged skin. Sciton announced the launch of their ProFractional 2940nm ablative laser device during the American Society of Laser Medicine & Surgery (ASLMS) meeting in April 2006. This device has now been launched in the UK in the last month and is distributed by Sigmacon Ltd, as an additional handpiece for the Sciton Profile™ laser platform. Pixel laser reviews by RealSelf.com users 89% said worth it (8 reviews) 11% said not worth it (1 review) Cost of Pixel laser: $720 (avg of 9 reviews) www.Sciton.com has lots of info on both, couldn’t find cost of profractional laser treatments, sorry, hope this helps though. also, go to acne.org, look up PROGRESS PHOTOS: MicroLaser Peel & Profractional Laser Treatment a girl who goes by LeslieAnn got profractional laser treatment and shows photos of her progress.

What exactly is a microdermabrasion treatment?

Posted by admin on Mar 14, 2010 under facials

Im 20, and I have this coupon for a skin care place for a free 15 minute microdermabrasion.. what exactly does the microderm. do?
Microdermabrasion (often referred to as Microderm) is a cosmetic procedure popular in day spas, doctors’ practices, and medical spas in which the stratum corneum (dead outermost surface of the skin) is partially or completely removed by light abrasion. Different methods include mechanical abrasion from jets of zinc oxide or aluminum oxide crystals, fine organic particles, or a roughened surface. Particles are removed off through the wand/handpiece through which the abrasive particles come [1] The term dermabrasion itself refers to the more severe medical procedure carried out under general or light anesthesia. Microdermabrasion is used to remove sun-damaged skin and to remove or lessen scars and dark spots on the skin. The procedure is not very painful and requires no anaesthetic. Microdermabrasion can be used medically for scar removal when the scar is raised above the surrounding skin, but is less effective with sunken scars. There is very little, if any, evidence that microdermabrasion stimulates collagen formation. Microdermabrasion can also be used for treatment of acne, but must be repeated periodically to be effective. Microdermabrasion should not be used on patients who have taken the medication Accutane (Isotretinion) in the previous twelve months. In the past, microdermabrasion was carried out using abrasive crystals. However, in the last decade, it has become more common to use a wand with a roughened surface. This procedure requires no medical oversight and is commonly used in conjunction with facial spa treatments. These days there are a multiplicity of machines available for microdermabrasion. The growth of the microdermabrasion treatment industry has led to innovations and there are currently a few different microdermabrasion systems available. In terms of professional microdermabrasion systems there are two choices: 1. Crystal microdermabrasion Crystal microdermabrasion systems are the traditional treatment of choice and rely on tiny crystals that are blasted onto the skin to perform the exfoliating process. Although the crystal microdermabrasion system is still widely used, the introduction of alternatives has led to a trend away from this treatment system. 2. Diamond microdermabrasion Diamond microdermabrasion systems operate without the need for crystals. The exfoliation process occurs when a diamond tipped head makes contact with the skin and abrades against it. In both crystals and diamond microdermabrasion systems the dead skin cells are sucked away from the face. 3. Home Microdermabrasion Home microdermabrasion systems are an increasingly popular alternative to professional treatments. These are cheap and very easy to perform, and although not as powerful as professional systems, can produce good results over time. There is a great deal of competition in the home microdermabrasion systems market with most of the big cosmetics and skin care brands launching their own home systems. Microdermabrasion is a procedure where tiny particles “sand” or “polish” the skin and gradually remove scarred or discolored epidermal tissue. When you use a home microdermbrasion system the surface skin cell turnover will be enhanced and the skin will be visibly fresher. Home microdermabrasion creams with active ingredients, are focused on skin renewal and accelerate rebuilding of healthy collagen skin cells after microdermabrasion, laser resurfacing or harsh peels. For depressed scars, such as pitted acne scars, subcision with needles is often used by estheticians to break up the deeply buried scar tissue, and a home microdermabrision system then speeds up new healthy skin remodeling: the orderly process of laying out new collagen and elastin fibers.

What is the difference between photorejuvenation and microdermabrasion?

Posted by admin on Mar 13, 2010 under facials

Can you tell me a little bit more about them and how much do the usually cost?
That stupid question is sooo immature you really need to get a life and stop being stupid. Don’t be jealous of the people who actually use their brain and who actually have a life and don’t live out on the streets. Sound familiar? That’s right, you and only you know what I’m talking about because you sent me that same answer on my question that actually made sense!!! What is this question about? Like you actually know what the word photorejuvenation and microdermabrasion mean! Right now my computer is saying that the word is misspelled even though I copied it from above just like you wrote it! If you do know what they mean I would be glad to hear. And that doesn’t mean go look them up in the adult scientist dictonary.

Can someone give me advice on Microdermabrasion?

Posted by admin on Mar 11, 2010 under facials

I was told by my dermatologist that Microdermabrasion can be used to get rid of acne scars but will cause the new skin to be darker than the normal skin. Is this true to anyone who has undergone Microdermabrasion? Anyone who has undergone Microdermabrasion please tell me what was done and the results of the process please, in as much detail as possible.
My friend had this done. It didn’t change the colour of her skin. It did get rid of the worst of the scars. But she still gets bad acne and more scars.
