Permanent makeup?

Posted by admin on Jul 21, 2010 under new york medispa, permanent makeup

Have you had any permanent makeup put on you? What have you had done? How do you like it?
I have eyebrow, eyeliner and full lip color tattooing and I love it. Of course I did it all myself so I knew it would be good. Also, I have been doing this for a long time so I have seen a lot of good and bad in this industry. There are key elements here – if you are young in particular, you have to be very conservative in this. First, because most of it stays forever so you have to be able to have some alterations down the road and next, if you have eyebrow tattooing (for instance) browns are not that stable and needs to be touched up over the years so you won’t be able to have that much ink over and over again in one place. You need to choose someone extremely talented – be sure the photos you are looking at on their websites or in their portfolio are their own and not stock photos purchased – there is a lot of that going around. Be sure you LIKE the work and feel comfortable and safe with this person. Never get this done is someone’s house or a nail salon – that is just unethical. Check here for some pros – htto://www.spcp.org

Can You Use Regular Tattoo Ink For Permanent Makeup?

Posted by admin on Jul 20, 2010 under facials, new york medispa, permanent makeup

Is there a difference between the pigments? Why can’t tattoo ink be used for permanent makeup?
Sure but it might look like crap. Anyone that gets permanent makeup is making a mistake, I don’t like a lot of makeup on women and I actually prefer none at all. If you get permanent makeup via tattooing, and then sometime down the road change your mind, it will be ten times harder to get it removed than a regular tatoo because of the proximity of your eyes. Think about it. Just use the temp stuff and when you’re alone you can wash it all off and just be yourself. ps: I don’t mind a classy tattoo, I have a few myself.

Spoken from the heart of someone who has no idea of the time, effort and money spent on makeup so women can feel beautiful and look good for those they encounter. Even this person who has absolutely no idea what he is talking about!

how can i know if a permanent makeup artist is authorized?

Posted by admin on Jul 18, 2010 under permanent makeup

the internet can lie , licenses can be fake so how can i know for sure if someone has full capacity and proper training to do a permanent makeup procedure?
you can call the state board of licensure to verify that person has a license. In some states that license is issued thru the state health department, so you can also inquire for verification of licensure there as well.

Check their work! Get live testimonials, ask questions and above all else be comfortable with them. Certifications like CPCP and the like are very important to verify!

Who has gotten Permanent Makeup using the Feathering Technique???

Posted by admin on May 6, 2010 under permanent makeup

I got my eyebrows done the (tattooed) the regular way but just recently discovereD this technique and am amazed at how wonderful this looks! Have you had this done or know someone who has? What did you get done and where ( city)??? How much did it cost? Are you happy with the costs? Any advice you can give me on this procedure….I am planning on getting it done next month……PLEASE HELP! AN EASY 10 POINTS FOR THOSE WHO CAN SHARE THEIR STORIES!!!!!!!

This is just a trendy name for a hair stroke process that people have been tattooing for years. What you are looking at is freshly tattooed hair strokes….look at it after a year or so….It fades fast and many people would rather it just be all filled in.

Permanent Makeup, Eyeliner?

Posted by admin on May 5, 2010 under permanent makeup

I am seriously considering getting permanent makeup. I never leave the house without wearing eyeliner AND I hate it when at the end of the day it’s all smudged. The pain and stuff is not a issue, what is an issue is I was just wondering how long is the recovery time? I’m a student and if I do get it, I’ll go on Thursday and then am planning to be back in school the following Tuesday. Is four days long enough? Or am I looking at weeks? AH I hope its not too long, help would be much appreciated :) Ahh so many are against it. BUT I’ve been wearing eyeliner for 7 years now, and yes I do use it everyday. I’ve heard from lots of people that it was a great decision. I’m getting it done in a hospital so I know it’ll be good. Plus I hate stretching the sensitive skin under my eyes, I don’t want early wrinkles. But if so many people are against it…Then is it really worth it? P.s Still wondering on over all recovery time. OH and thank you all who have already answered :)

Please don’t. As you age it would mess up the line and it will look weird. Why not invest in a higher quality eyeliner? Urban Decay is really good try their 24/7 liners. Also, try an eye primer like too faced shadow insurance. But, if you really want, too, I would talk to the person who you want to do it for you. However, I highly suggest you do not get permanent makeup. It may sound like a good idea now…but it won’t when you’re older or if you decide you don’t like eyeliner anymore.

PLEASE DO… the results and benefits are priceless! I am a man and had a very light tint placed in between each of my eyelashes which is for the most part unoticable; however, it brings out the color and frames my eyes in stunning fashion. Girls only. Permanent makeup (eyebrows)?

Posted by admin on May 4, 2010 under permanent makeup

How did the procedure go? Were you happy with the result? I’m thinking about getting it done but nervous. I’m afraid I’m gonna look like a freak. I want it to look soft and natural. Nothing dramatic or too dark.
I have never heard of permanent makeup “growing out” like another poster mentioned, that’s uhhh…kinda strange. Glad my tat’s don’t “grow out” lol! Anyway…my mom got her brow’s and lip’s (liner) done a few years ago after getting some eye-work done to maintain her “youthful” appearance :) Personally I think her brows took painted on and very unnatural, which of course I would never tell her. BUT her lip’s look great! Please think this through carefully…I would never do it personally…it only takes 2 minutes to line ur brows and u know that sh$t will rub off in the evening! Good Luck.

Just consult with a makeup artist that has experience, talent and works WITH0UT STENCILS!!! Unfortunately several women are wronged in the process and someone like Linda Nicolo at Pretty Face Medispa is called on to fix what someone else did wrong in the permanent makeup application process.

Has anyone gotten permanent eye makeup?

Posted by admin on May 3, 2010 under permanent makeup

Eye liner or eyebrows? How does it look?
I have permanent eye liner on both upper eyelids and it looks natural on me. I had a friend who was practicing to get her cosmetology license do me (know, I know, I was a brave soul!) and she did it really straight, smudge-proof and thin. I couldn’t be happier :-)

GREAT SUCCESS STORY!!

Is permanent Makeup safe? ?

Posted by admin on May 2, 2010 under permanent makeup

I’m interested in possibly getting my eyebrows and eyeliner done with permanent makeup, and wanted to get some experienced opinions on it. Is it safe? (especially the eyeliner, I’m worried about a slip of a hand!!) How does it look as you age and your face/skin changes? Where are the best places in the Vancouver area to go? Thanks in advance for your help!

I have the eyeliner done on my upper lids and I love it! I wouldn’t get eyebrows, I hate that draw-on look. I had a very experienced nurse that is an RN CPE, and other licensed degrees. She has certification in the procedures and my mom and grandma have also went to her. There is no way the hand can slip. The lady that did mine put on a little numbing cream first then did the eyeliner. It looks just like eyeliner would. I had her do a very thin brown/black line that was in my eyelash line and a teenie bit above. I absolutely love it! Here is a picture of my eyes for you to see my results http://s167.photobucket.com/albums/u143/blondengaffing/?action=view¤t=eyesagain.jpg

How badly does permanent makeup hurt to apply?

Posted by admin on May 1, 2010 under permanent makeup

I’ve got a weird birthmark about an inch below/to the right of my right eye. It’s like a little red starburst looking thing. But because it’s red, people always think it’s a zit and makeup never seems to cover it well. I’d like to just have a mole tattooed over it. A little dot of brownish black. Or blackish brown. That’s all. I’ve got plenty of tattoos on my arms, back, legs, neck, wrists, hips, etc., but facial tattoos sort of terrify me. Is the pain bad? How much would it cost me for just the little dot? Any good places anyone can recommend in L.A.? GOOD, SAFE, HEALTHY, CERTIFIED places? Thanks, guys!
I am from the UK so cannot tell you any places to go to unfortunately! However, I can tell you that my friend had permanent makeup done-eyeliner and eyebrows and she lookd like she had had her eyes punched for at least a week after! xx

That is a tragic tale and what your asking to have done is a very simple process that can be accommodated by any qualified and experienced permanent makeup artist! Good Luck and don’t listen to those who have only something negative to say.

Semi Permanent Make-up Lip Procedures

Posted by admin on Nov 30, 2009 under permanent makeup

Its the law of nature that we cant all be blessed with full and sensual lips! But with any shape lips, as we get older, the natural skin pigments fade, and can draw colour out of the face.It is now possible, thanks to FAME®, to change the shape and shade of your mouth. Many of our clients are unhappy with thin lips, explains Debra. to restore lost definition, we line the lips very softly outside the border with the Lip Perfection Contour and Blended Contour. As well as lost definition we can create fuller and more sensual lips with out the need for frequent injectable fillers.Barely There Blush is a softly defined outline which is blended and faded about halfway into the lip area to give an amazing, natural looking pout. The Volumising Lip Tint defines the contour slightly and discretely outside the border to give an impression of fullness with a hint of colour applied to the centre of the lip for a natural looking tint.

What’s different between permanent or semipermanent makeup?

Posted by admin on Nov 27, 2009 under permanent makeup

permanent make-up is literally a tattoo. you have somebody tattoo say your eyeliner on, and once it is on it is on. the only thing that will happen is that it could fade time like a tattoo. semi permanent would be like long wearing styles of make-up like SeneGence or Revlon Colorstay. Something that stays on until you remove them with some sort of make-up remover.

Beauty & Benefits of Permanent Makeup

Posted by admin on Nov 27, 2009 under new york medispa, permanent makeup

Permanent makeup (also known as intradermal cosmetics and cosmetic tattooing) does not smear, smudge, flake or fade. It is especially beneficial for physically active people as well as those who have difficulty applying conventional makeup. Because permanent cosmetics are applied directly into the skin, they have a softer and more natural look than conventional makeup. In addition to mimicking conventional makeup for eyebrows, eyeliner, lipliner and full lip color, permanent cosmetics can also be used to hide scars and other skin imperfections.

Can I use permanent makeup to darken light birthmarks?

Posted by admin on Nov 27, 2009 under new york medispa, permanent makeup

If so where would I go for that procedure?

I have met people who have had a procedure that tattooed over Rosecea, not sure what it’s called, but it was done at a classy hair salon that also does permanent makeup, the same place where my mom got her eyebrows tattooed. You can also look on the web at Plastic Surgeon websites, they may also do that procedure.

how do you choose a permanent makeup artist?

Posted by admin on Nov 23, 2009 under permanent makeup

How do you go about choosing a permanent makeup artist? Since permanent makeup lasts about 5 years, one certainly doesn’t want to choose the wrong person to put it on. Price shopping is not the way to go, so just how would you quality shop? There is a national permanent makeup artist list, but what would you look for when deciding who to go to?
http://www.permanent-eyeliner.info/

First, permanent makeup does not only last 5 years – it is a tattoo and lasts forever when properly maintained. It is crucial you find someone with the proper level of skill, aesthetic value, and knowledge of infection control.

I would start at this website: www.spcp.org

You can click to your own state for a list of professional members there. Then I would make an appointment to view their portfolio and check out their studio. You don’t want to go somewhere where there is nail file dust all over..blow driers going, etc.

Tattooing should be in its own separate environment.

Make sure that what they show in their portfolio is similar to what you are looking for. You must feel comfortable and confident with this person – if not, keep moving. It is not like body art that can be hidden under clothing – we are talking about your face! It is a highly rewarding procedure or badly damaging one. Be sure your artist respects that about the industry!
