Has anyone had (facial) laser resurfacing done?

How long did it last before you thought about getting more procedures? What kind of compliments have you gotten? How long did it take for your skin’s redness to fade? How painful was it? Would you do it all over again…was it worth it? Do you or someone you know have any long-term side effects from it?
Yes, I did a few years ago. When I first had it done, I didn’t really see that much improvement, but other people commented that my skin was ‘immaculate’ lol. The redness took a couple of months to reside completely. It wasn’t that painful, just a bit uncomfortable for the first few days after. I guess the only painful part was trying to clean my skin, but apart from that it was fine. Overall, my skin was smoother, with increased elasticity and a more even skin tone. I’m probably going to have a TCA peel next time, as it is less expensive and has less downtime. HTH : )

Great News about your Laser Skin Resurfacing experience and I am Thrilled You Received Favorable Results!

Bikini laser hair removal?

Posted by admin on Jul 8, 2010 under laser hair removal

I’ve had 2 treatments of bikini laser hair removal, then I didn’t go back for the rest of the treatments. Now I want to finish the rest of treatments, and it’s been over a year. Will I have to start treatments all over again or can I just continue?

You will just continue, the hairs the were destroyed will never grow back again. The intervals between sessions doesn’t matter as long as it’s at least 6 or 8 weeks apart.

Here’s my experiences with it in case it helps you any

Okay… science answer:

You grow in at least 80% of your hair during puberty. When you have laser hair removal the hairs it kills will never grow again. But you still have up to 20% of your normal thickness that will grow in throughout the rest of your life. So people get touch up sessions every 3-5 years after their big 6 treatments. You need about 6 treatments, one each 2 months for a year, because the hair grows in different stages and it can only kill hair in the active growth stage. The laser works by targeting dark color (the hair follicle) and passing through light color (the skin) the hair and skin have to be very different shades of color for the hair to work. It burns the dark color disabling the hair follicle so hair cannot grow from it again. The darker and coarser the hair and lighter the skin, the better results you will have.

Okay… Personal Experience:

I’ve had 4 out of my 6 treatments so far. It HURTS! It’s like being poked with a sewing needle over and over, but it’s not as painful as a tattoo, and that’s not as painful as childbirth, maybe that can put the pain in perspective for you =) I’ve had my legs, underarms, and bikini area done. When you get your bikini area done they do ALL of it! Including spreading your butt and vaginal lips apart to laser all the cracks… It’s sorta awkward. After the 4 treatments I’ve had so far I’ve lost about 80% of leg hair, 80% bikini hair, and 80% underarms hair. But the legs are the most painful. The more it hurts the better it works. I have only a few hairs left around my ankles but every time the ankles hurt the worst for me.
I spent this much for 6 treatments in each area:
Bikini-$750
Underarms-$750
Legs (toes to bikini)-$2,500

Email me if you have any more questions about it!

What is an estimate cost for laser hair removal for bikini line?

Posted by admin on Jul 8, 2010 under laser hair removal

I am looking to get laser hair removal on my bikini line. I’m looking to go as far as bikini line all the way to brasil (if you get what I’m saying) I was wondering what an estimate cost would be, and what the hair removal procedure is like?

The cost will be around $200 to $300 per treatments and you will need 4-6 treatments. The procedure hurts a bit but is very bearable. Just make sure you go to a reputable provider.

The attached site(s) have more information and a directory of certified providers.

Laser Hair Removal – Remove Unwanted Hair Permanently

Posted by admin on Jul 7, 2010 under laser hair removal

http://www.amacorp.com

Utilizing specially engineered lasers, permanent hair removal has never been more comfortable for men and women of all colors and skin types. In just four or five sessions, patients can achieve lasting results without damaging the skin or any surrounding tissue.

Dark pigment (melanin) in the hair shaft and the papilla (the root of the hair follicle) are targeted by a specific light-energy emitted by the laser. In a tiny fraction of a second, the hair is simply vaporized without damaging the skin or any surrounding tissue.

In one pulse (that lasts a tiny fraction of a second) our lasers remove hair on a patch of skin the size of a quarter. The hair removal sensation is like plucking hair or getting snapped by a rubber-band. Our lasers incorporate a patented and state-of-the-art integrated cooling system that acts as a natural anesthetic, cooling down the skin to minimize any discomfort. Patients unanimously report that the hair removal treatment is a “piece of cake” compared to waxing.

A question about laser hair removal for bikini area?

Posted by admin on Jul 6, 2010 under laser hair removal

I have read and heard that instead of a brazilian wax it is now possible to get a ‘brazilian’ laser treatment. Is this more or less painful than waxing? Is it very expensive? Is it permanent the first time or do you have to have it done more than once? How long does it take?

It takes several sessions, and during, the laser feels like someone is snapping a rubber band on you. I would say it’s more painful in the short run, but once the hair is gone, it’s gone. The prices vary depending on where you live, and on how nice the place is, but it is not cheap anywhere.

Laser Hair Removal – Bikini Area?

Posted by admin on Jul 4, 2010 under laser hair removal

The term "bikini area" for laser hair removal is vague? Does it mean they only do the inner thigh? What specific areas will the hair be removed from?

anything from the upper inner thigh to the center. you pick where you want to leave the hair. If you want your "crack" done too, that is extra. Here is a link to an informative article about a womans laser hair removal experience, I think you will find this useful in answering your question. ENJOY!

Bikini laser hair removal help?

Posted by admin on Jul 2, 2010 under laser hair removal

I am having this done but suddenly unsure if I want to get rid of ALL my hair permanently. Is it possible to remove most of my hair, leaving a fine layer so I don’ t look totally bald down there?

After years of nightmare hair removal options, I finally decided to look into permanent hair removal options. My research led me to a consultation at Manhattan’s salon.

I found a website http://www.hairlaserremoval.co.uk
There are many useful information to me. Thanks to them.

At my consultation I wasn’t expecting to go under the laser. In fact, I wasn’t sure what to expect. My technician, Michelle, was laid-back, confident and attentive. When I asked what the results would look like, she lifted her arm and showed me the most perfect hairless armpit I’d ever seen. Knowing I was
writing an article, she even showed me her bikini line. I was blown away with the possibility of never having to shave again.

Step 1: Paper panties
Technician leaves you with paper panties. I was given the paper panties then Michelle left. She came back in and I laid on the table in basically a splayed position (a bit uncomfortable, but then Michelle was so laid back and had showed me HER bikini line so what did I care?).

Step 2: Ice cold
Ice cold jelly-like goo is squeezed onto all the soon-to-be-lasered spots. The goo apparently protects skin and offers some sort of barrier from the heated light.

Step 3: The laser wand comes out
I had no idea what this looked like until I saw it. Lasers vary, but the one Michelle used on me reminded me of the part of your printer that you attach to your computer. The part that is closest to your skin is about 4 inches long and an inch wide (although they vary). Michelle gave me a pair of sunglasses.

Step 4: The procedure begins
Basically Michelle worked along my bikini line. I had asked about the pain and she said it would feel like a rubber band snapping the skin. She was right. The pain wasn’t unbearable at all, nothing like the searing pain of waxing. The laser pulses with light and you feel a ’snap.’ She moves along with each ‘zap.’

Step 5: Clean up
Once the lasering was over, Michelle scooped up the goo, I got dressed and that was it. No need for creams or lotions or potions. Michelle told me the hair would fall out within 2 weeks.
On my way out the door the woman at the reception desk told me I was going to love the results. I left happy and confident she was right. Then the waiting began.

Two weeks later, the hair was gone and a new hair cycle had just barely begun to grow in. Hair grows in cycles so you should get about 6 treatments to ensure you kill all the hair follicles. A month after my first treatment I went in for my second. Find out what happened in my 3rd installment of Diary of a Laser Hair Removal Guinea Pig.

how much does laser hair removal cost for a womans brazillian area?

Posted by admin on Jul 1, 2010 under laser hair removal

You can expect it to cost $250 to $350 per treatment and you will need 4-6 treatments. You can call 888.517.4187 to get more specific pricing for your area.

Make sure you go to someone experienced who is utilizing fairly new equipment. Poor results are generally caused by you being a bad candidate for laser, a practioner who is inexperienced or poor equipment.

Need advice on laser hair removal for my bikini area.?

Posted by admin on Jun 30, 2010 under laser hair removal

I want to get laser hair removal on my entire bikini area, like a sphinx wax (I think that is what they are called! Or brazillian but 100% bare!). Has anyone done this? If so, how many visits did it take to get the job done, did it hurt, how much was your total cost, etc… I really want to get this done! I am in the St. Louis area, so if anyone who answers is from around here, and good doctor reconmendations? Thanks for any help! Oh, and I am VERY fair complected with black hair, so I think I would be a good candidate from the research I have done!

Call 888.517.4187, www.hairRemovalForum.com, they have a number of providers in the St. Louis area and they survey previous customers to make sure the results are good.

You are right about being a good candidate, plus the bikini area is the easiest area to get good results because of the depth of the follicle. Price will be somewhat dependent on multiple factors but you can expect to pay over $1K for all of your treatments.

Good luck!
