How much does real medical microdermabrasion help to reduce enlarged pores?

What about microdermabrasion combined with an acid peel? How much of a change in my pores could I expect after one treatment? How much pain or "down time" is there after treatment? Have any of you gotten this done for enlarged pores and had good results? (remember, at home mdb is not the same thing) Thanks

I’ve had this done before professionaly ( a series of treatments) and it is so worth it. It does help a lot to minimize the size of your pores but what it really does is takes off the first layer of your skin so your face wash will penetrate deeper in your pores. An acid peel will burn a bit after if you use it. Oh and it isn’t very painful. the person doing it has different levels they can put the machine on depending on the sensitivity of your skin. Just make sure you ask them for a sunscreen that wont clog your pores to use after the treatment because your face will be more prone to sunburn. Hope that helped!

Has anyone ever had a microdermabrasion?

I have alot of dark spots on my face due to occasional bouts of acne. I’m able to make my skin look flawless with my makeup, but sometimes I don’t want to wear makeup and just show a healthy, glowing even skin tone. I’ve tried Clean and Clear, Olay Regenerist, Ambi Fade Cream, Dove Exfoliating products, ….etc. My next step is to go to the doctor and have microdermabrasion? Has anyone ever had that? If so, what does it feel like? Does it work? Were the results worth it? Or is there another process to get rid of the dark spots and achieve an even skin tone.

I use at-home kits and the first time felt strange but not painful. It’s important to rub gently and not to exceed the recommended time for usage. It’s left my skin a lot smoother, more radiant and my pores are more refined.

How much have you paid for microdermabrasion? Did it work?

Did microdermabrasion work for you? How many treatments did you go for? What was the time between the treatments? What did you pay and would you do it again? Is there a big difference in your skin? I never had it and saw an ad- Just wondering… Thanks

I had three full professional microderma treatments until now, each included 10 sessions. They were scheduled 2 weeks apart (that’s how long skin needs to recover after an exfoliating procedure). I paid $1.100 for the full10 session treatment at my local spa.
It had good results: faded scars and lines, less visible age spots on my face and neck, less visible stretch marks on my belly and thighs. I will do it again next year a nd the year after that, because this is the best cosmetic procedure for my aging skin. It has no side effects, it doesn;t hurt and is not that expensive.

Can acne scars return after being ground off with microdermabrasion?

A few months ago I managed to grind off all my raised acne scars with home microdermabrasion. A few weeks ago, some of the scars seemed to have returned. Is this indeed what happened? If so, how can I ensure that they do not return again? Or are they breakouts?

Its hard to say without a picture, however scars are usually from deep beneath several layers of skin, thats why they are such a pain to get rid of and take lots of time to heal. So maybe you refreshed your top layer, and now the bottom layers are coming through or you could have new breakouts, if your skin is still breaking out you should not do microdermabrasion as that just irritates your skin even more and creates more breakouts. You should wait until your skin fully heals and is no longer prone to acne then use microdermabrasion. In the meantime a light scrub would be ok and a good facial mask.

Is a really deep cleansing facial as good as Microdermabrasion?

Having olive skin Ive been told there may be a risk doing microdermabrasion as it may cause hyperpigmentation so Im wondering if a really good facial once a month will help get rid of light scarring and redness of my skin from old spots – what do you think?

I have some deep pimples that have resurfaced several times and I never seem to be able to remove them completely. I also have red marks from old acne. Does microdermabrasion remove blackheads and whiteheads and pustules? What is the price? I am referring to the treatments they do in spas. Please no answers recommending other things like rubbing fruit on your face…

I have microderm instead of normal facials. I use good products and put a mask on once a week so I don’t need a facial to do those simple things. That’s why I have microderm instead. It is a great deep cleanse that you cannot do yourself at home properly.
For acne like you are talking about, I would try IPL or VPL – the variable pulse light treatments. Make sure you go to a reputable salon and discuss it with them before you even think about doing it.
It is expensive and by god it hurts – but the results are absolutely fantastic. This is what celebs have done weeks before a big event and why their skin glows.
