A little while ago i herd on the radio about laser hair removal that was only one treatment and lasted up to ten years. I didn’t catch the name or number and I cannot find it anywhere. Is it real? If so I need help finding it!
I don’t believe it to be true because hair grows in cycles. One treatment would damage the follicles of one cycle, but not rid it after only one time. It takes several treatments and generally doesn’t last quite 10 years. Laser hair removal can be very expensive, so don’t fall for the gimmicks.

How much did you pay for laser hair removal for the underarms? Where did you get it, and how do you like the results? I don’t know if this matters much with hair, but I’m white, with not too hairy underarms (i guess, lol) Thanks!
Okay… science answer:
You grow in at least 80% of your hair during puberty. When you have laser hair removal the hairs it kills will never grow again. But you still have up to 20% of your normal thickness that will grow in throughout the rest of your life. So people get touch up sessions every 3-5 years after their big 6 treatments. You need about 6 treatments, one each 2 months for a year, because the hair grows in different stages and it can only kill hair in the active growth stage.
Okay…
Personal Experience:
I get mine done at sona medspa in houston tx
I’ve had 2 out of my 6 treatments so far. It HURTS! I’ve had my legs, underarms, and bikini area done. When you get your bikini area done they do ALL of it! Including spreading your butt and vaginal lips spart to laser all the cracks… It’s sorta awkward. After the 2 treatments I’ve had so far I’ve lost about 60% of leg hair, 40% bikini hair, and 25% underarms hair. It’s because the underarms hair is the thinnest and the leg hair is the coarsest. But the legs are the most painful. The more it hurts the better it works.
I spent this much for 6 treatments in each area:
Bikini-$750
Underarms-$750
Legs (toes to bikini)-$2,500

Laser hair removal is a hit-or-miss procedure. It either works or it doesn’t.

When shopping for laser clinics such as Dermacare, what are the types of laser machine should I look for? I am not sure what are the differences between LightSheer XC and Gentle Lase or any other laser machines used. Does anyone know what should I be looking for when shopping for laser hair removal clinics in terms of equipment used?
Thanks
Alexandrite – GentleLase, LighSheer – Diode, are very similar machines and will work well if you have light skin and dark hair. There are some knew systems out there if you have darker skin or light hair that you are trying to treat. The attached site has information on different types of equipment.
There are facts about Laser Hair Removal and Electrolysis Hair Removal that are often misleading, unfortunately this incorrect information is often given by many service providers in the hair removal industry. Many of the incorrect statements being conveyed is no need for electrolysis when laser hair removal is available.
The fact is, that both Laser Hair Removal and Electrolysis Hair Removal each have their place.
Electrolysis is the only method that will effectively remove targeted hair growth mostly seen on the chin and lip areas of women. If a laser is used on these areas where not all the hair is actively growing it could cause much more harm than good. Vellus hair, which is the superficial hair that covers mostly every inch of our body, will be singed by the laser and start the growth process. Before any laser session the skin must be shaved to avoid burning the hair and harming the skin. By shaving this vellus hair and then applying laser, the dormant vellus hair will begin to grow and cause much more hair growth in the area being treated for removal, the dark thick targeted hairs, which are black and coarse. Electrolysis will target the terminal hairs ( thick dark hairs) that are easily seen and felt without touching the tiny, almost not visible, vellus hairs. By doing so only the individual, unwanted hairs, on the chin, lip, brows and face are targeted and guaranteed to be permanently eliminated.
If a hair removal client has full facial hair and shaves or waxes the face completely then they are a perfect candidate for laser. Laser works best on dark hair against light skin and also full hair growth areas like bikini, under arms and legs and back. Full back hair on men respond very well to laser as every follicle has an active hair.
It may not be known but every square inch of skin has 6,000 hair follicles, much of which are Vellus hairs. Electrolysis has always been the treatment for targeted permanent hair removal and should be referred by every laser center for correction. If a laser hair removal center does not offer Electrolysis and suggests laser on these areas, the treatment will more than likely have very undesirable results in the long run and end up with much more of an unwanted hair problem. Offering both Electrolysis and Laser Hair Removal treatments is the perfect solution to every condition of Permanent hair removal.
Pretty Face Medi Spa now offers Laser Hair Removal in motion as seen on the Doctors on CBS. This technology is fast and much more comfortable than the standard laser and is very effective. After six short treatments virtually all the hair is gone or reverted back to tiny unnoticeable Vellus hair. We sell our Laser Packages in six treatments offering the last treatment complimentary. Offering both Laser and Electrolysis continues to put Pretty Face Medi Spa as the location of choice for Permanent Hair Removal.

I want to know which laser hair removal machine is the most effective. I don’t want an at home machine, I just want to know which one is the best. Is ELOS good? There are so many different people advertising hair removal and all are using different machines so I just want some insight from people who have had laser hair removal. I live in Canada by the way. Thanks for the help!

I got my eyebrows done the (tattooed) the regular way but just recently discovereD this technique and am amazed at how wonderful this looks! Have you had this done or know someone who has? What did you get done and where ( city)??? How much did it cost? Are you happy with the costs? Any advice you can give me on this procedure….I am planning on getting it done next month……PLEASE HELP! AN EASY 10 POINTS FOR THOSE WHO CAN SHARE THEIR STORIES!!!!!!!
This is just a trendy name for a hair stroke process that people have been tattooing for years. What you are looking at is freshly tattooed hair strokes….look at it after a year or so….It fades fast and many people would rather it just be all filled in.

I am seriously considering getting permanent makeup. I never leave the house without wearing eyeliner AND I hate it when at the end of the day it’s all smudged. The pain and stuff is not a issue, what is an issue is I was just wondering how long is the recovery time? I’m a student and if I do get it, I’ll go on Thursday and then am planning to be back in school the following Tuesday. Is four days long enough? Or am I looking at weeks? AH I hope its not too long, help would be much appreciated
Ahh so many are against it. BUT I’ve been wearing eyeliner for 7 years now, and yes I do use it everyday. I’ve heard from lots of people that it was a great decision. I’m getting it done in a hospital so I know it’ll be good. Plus I hate stretching the sensitive skin under my eyes, I don’t want early wrinkles. But if so many people are against it…Then is it really worth it? P.s Still wondering on over all recovery time. OH and thank you all who have already answered
Please don’t. As you age it would mess up the line and it will look weird. Why not invest in a higher quality eyeliner? Urban Decay is really good try their 24/7 liners. Also, try an eye primer like too faced shadow insurance. But, if you really want, too, I would talk to the person who you want to do it for you. However, I highly suggest you do not get permanent makeup. It may sound like a good idea now…but it won’t when you’re older or if you decide you don’t like eyeliner anymore.
PLEASE DO… the results and benefits are priceless! I am a man and had a very light tint placed in between each of my eyelashes which is for the most part unoticable; however, it brings out the color and frames my eyes in stunning fashion. How did the procedure go? Were you happy with the result? I’m thinking about getting it done but nervous. I’m afraid I’m gonna look like a freak. I want it to look soft and natural. Nothing dramatic or too dark.
I have never heard of permanent makeup “growing out” like another poster mentioned, that’s uhhh…kinda strange. Glad my tat’s don’t “grow out” lol! Anyway…my mom got her brow’s and lip’s (liner) done a few years ago after getting some eye-work done to maintain her “youthful” appearance
Personally I think her brows took painted on and very unnatural, which of course I would never tell her. BUT her lip’s look great! Please think this through carefully…I would never do it personally…it only takes 2 minutes to line ur brows and u know that sh$t will rub off in the evening! Good Luck.
Just consult with a makeup artist that has experience, talent and works WITH0UT STENCILS!!! Unfortunately several women are wronged in the process and someone like Linda Nicolo at Pretty Face Medispa is called on to fix what someone else did wrong in the permanent makeup application process.
Eye liner or eyebrows? How does it look?
I have permanent eye liner on both upper eyelids and it looks natural on me. I had a friend who was practicing to get her cosmetology license do me (know, I know, I was a brave soul!) and she did it really straight, smudge-proof and thin. I couldn’t be happier
GREAT SUCCESS STORY!!
I’m interested in possibly getting my eyebrows and eyeliner done with permanent makeup, and wanted to get some experienced opinions on it. Is it safe? (especially the eyeliner, I’m worried about a slip of a hand!!) How does it look as you age and your face/skin changes? Where are the best places in the Vancouver area to go? Thanks in advance for your help!
I have the eyeliner done on my upper lids and I love it! I wouldn’t get eyebrows, I hate that draw-on look. I had a very experienced nurse that is an RN CPE, and other licensed degrees. She has certification in the procedures and my mom and grandma have also went to her. There is no way the hand can slip. The lady that did mine put on a little numbing cream first then did the eyeliner. It looks just like eyeliner would. I had her do a very thin brown/black line that was in my eyelash line and a teenie bit above. I absolutely love it! Here is a picture of my eyes for you to see my results http://s167.photobucket.com/albums/u143/blondengaffing/?action=view¤t=eyesagain.jpg
